“Wig! 2”

Laura Plad’s Summer 2025 solo exhibition. Laura leveled up with this body of work. The theme she chose was, florals Each of her girls have intricately hand-rhinestoned floral adornments and are named to match. To achieve full and complete color coverage of the flowers, Laura uses as many as five different size rhinestones. They’re exquisite!

• Each bust is made by hand-pouring plaster into an original mold. The individual Wigs are then sculpted by hand atop one of the busts using a proprietary mixture that amounts to a, Paper Maché Clay. Once hardened, smoothed and dry, they’re then painted with custom mixed acrylic paint and rhinestoned, by hand…one, by one, by one.

• Each Wig sculpture is roughly 16-ish” tall × 9-ish” wide.
